Trap Tower

Brains, balance, and a steady hand.

Trap Tower started as a bachelor party game: stack loaded mousetraps on the floor and see how high you can get. That first event was photo-free (some nights are like that), but since then, we’ve captured a few efforts.

The game turns out to be pretty pathological. Mousetraps don’t stack well, and mistakes are catastrophic (and hilarious). See how high you can go before the whole thing blows up in your face.

How we played it the first time

No constraints on orientation, symmetry, or design. Anything goes, as long as the structure is freestanding.

After about twenty minutes of attempts, collapses, and aborted placements, the tallest structure that actually stood was two layers. One team briefly reached three, but it collapsed almost immediately.

Practical note:
Not everyone knows how to set a mousetrap. Before starting, it’s worth making sure everyone understands how they work.

Mousetraps

We used standard Victor-style wooden mousetraps without the plastic bait pedal.

The exact set we used was purchased online (Amazon link), but many equivalent traps should work similarly.
